Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 victory over Newcastle on Sunday afternoon - but who were our standout performers on the day?
As always we caught up with LFC TV commentator John Bradley to gauge his views - do you agree or disagree?
I think it's getting to the stage now where teams are coming to Anfield terrified of the Uruguayan, certainly Newcastle were worried about his movement and ability before the game and it was Luis who was to have the most telling of impacts.
Suarez really excelled in the second period where the Magpies just couldn't deal with him and it eventually led to Mike Williamson hauling him down after he had cheekily robbed the defender. A week ago nobody deserved a goal more than Luis but it never came, but against Newcastle it did as he coolly slotted beyond Tim Krul and once again looked every inch the quality player that Liverpool bought in January.
2. Glen Johnson
Glen had missed the last 3 games after damaging a hamstring against West Bromwich Albion a month ago, but he bounced back well and really hit the ground running.
We saw the two parts of Glen's game come together well against Newcastle. In the first half he was a constant menace down the left hand side and then in the second period he completely nullified the threat from right back of Jonas Gutierrez, who had given young John Flanagan a few problems before half time.
It was also good to see Glen perform so well against one of the pretenders for his place in the England team, and he certainly overshadowed Danny Simpson on the day.
3. Jay Spearing
Once again the midfield axis of Lucas and Jay Spearing had a key role to play at both ends of the field and this was a close call but Jay just edges out the Brazilian on this occasion.
The young scouser was again composed in possession and isn't afraid to put his foot in as he showed with crunching tackles on Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton. His continued improvement under Kenny and Steve Clarke must be a breath of fresh air for the management team and Jay will be one of the players who won't want this season to end,
In truth the reds were comfortable winners on the day, but Newcastle did have a good spell before half time when Jamie Carragher and Martin Skrtel stood up excellently to an aerial bombardment and came through with flying colours.
Another 3 points and into 5th place for the Reds, now let's hope they can maintain it on the road at Fulham next Monday.
SEMBANG BOLA.
